GOD
We should
go to Jesus and tell Him all our needs. We may bring Him our
little cares and perplexities as well as our greater troubles.
Whatever arises to disturb or distress us, we should take
it to the Lord in prayer. . . Satan tries to keep us away
from Jesus, our best and most sympathizing friend. (Adapted
from Counsels for the Church, p. 294.)
FRIENDS
Your
friends have a huge influence on your character and mind!
Your choice of friends impacts your usefulness [how you do
in school, relationships with parents, etc.] right now and
they could even influence your eternal destiny. (Paraphrased
from Adventist Home,
p. 455)
Friends
are very important to young people. Some persons you just
“click with.” Your good friends will have an influence
over your life—either to strengthen your relationship
with Jesus and even encourage you to be a better person, or
a negative influence that causes you to be careless and rebellious,
especially regarding spiritual things. (Paraphrased from Adventist
Home, p. 455)
BROTHERS
/ SISTERS
Tender
affection should ever be cherished between . . . brothers
and sisters. Every hasty word should be checked, and there
should not be even the appearance of lack of love one for
another. . . . Each one should seek in every possible way
to please and make happy the members of the family circle.
(The Faith I Live By, p. 267)

[Every
child] should be encouraged in trying to help father and mother,
. . . to watch for opportunities to cheer and assist brothers
and sisters and playmates, and to show kindness to the aged,
the sick, and the unfortunate. (Child Guidance, p. 36)
PARENTS

The
chores you do at home, the responsibilities you take in your
family, are every bit as important to God as what the pastor
and other officers do at church. (paraphrased from Adventist
Home,
p. 282)
There
is no time when children should withhold respect and love
from their father and mother. (Adventist Home, p. 360)
