Nope! But the Bible suggests that our health should be as carefully guarded as our character (3 John 2). That means it may be as important to exercise and eat our veggies every day as it is to say our prayers!
A vegetarian diet has many benefits. Vegetarians live (on average) longer than non-vegetarians, they are sick less, and many vegetarians experience more energy than non-vegetarians. Daniel (Daniel 1) and his friends are a great example of the benefits of a vegetarian diet.
But being a vegetarian is not the only important part of healthful living.
Christians who want to honor God with their bodies will also choose a low sugar, low saturated fat diet (that’s thumbs down to most fast food!), they will exercise regularly and drink lots of water, they will avoid alcohol, drugs, and tobacco, they’ll enjoy sunshine (where ever possible) and fresh air, they’ll get plenty of sleep, and they will trust in their Creator God who gave them such awesome bodies and minds!
