Prayer
Prayer to me
Is like a plea
Or a question.
It comes from our hearts,
An asking of sorts
When we have no hope or direction.
Why do we pray?
Some people may say
To get an answer to our question.
But to me it’s more like
Talking to God for pleasure,
Lending Him the weights on our backs,
Or seeking an answer to life’s questions.
When weights are grave
His spirit grasps them
To drop into the sea.
That’s how I know
Prayer is real enough for me.
